Tyrepower ambassador, Craig Lowndes, has broken Bathurst records by once again taking out first place in one of Australia’s biggest motor races, the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Congratulations to Craig, who is now a six-time winner of Australia’s Great Race, with 13 podium finishes under his belt, a feat that no other Bathurst drivers have been able to accomplish as yet.
This year’s race, which was held over the weekend in Bathurst NSW, was also significant for Australia’s biggest independent tyre retailer as it marks one decade of Tyrepower’s sponsorship of the Bathurst 1000.
The thousands of spectators at the track on the weekend and millions of viewers at home would have seen the Tyrepower signage displayed along the track at the infamous Tyrepower Cutting, which again proved to be an extremely difficult section of the track for the drivers to manoeuvre.
“We are absolutely thrilled for Craig Lowndes’ win at the Bathurst 1000 for this sixth time this year, and to have been a sponsor of the race for the tenth year running,” Tyrepower Chief Executive Officer, David Wilson, said.
“As this race is arguably the most important on the V8 Supercars Championship calendar, it’s fantastic that our ambassador had the skill and experience to once again come out on top.
“Craig has been a part of the Tyrepower family for over five years, and we are very proud of his incredible achievement. With 2015 being the first year that Craig has been a national Tyrepower ambassador, it’s great to see him take out such a hotly contested win.
“Craig is an extremely celebrated and widely-loved driver, and this win will no-doubt please many V8 Supercars fans.”
