Australia’s biggest independent tyre retailer has joined forces with Australia’s most popular and recognised racing driver.
Craig Lowndes was today announced as the new National Ambassador for Tyrepower, extending a relationship which began with the tyre retailing giant’s Queensland operations five years ago.
Lowndes’ appointment reflects Tyrepower’s increasing involvement in V8 Supercar racing, which includes naming rights sponsorship of the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint event in March and the Tyrepower Cutting corner at Bathurst’s famed Mt Panorama track.
Tyrepower will also be a regular supporter of Network 10’s V8 Supercar television coverage this year, with Lowndes featuring heavily in the advertisements.
“Craig Lowndes is an outstanding individual as well as being the most successful racing driver in Australian history, and we are all delighted to welcome him to the Tyrepower family nationally,” Tyrepower CEO David Wilson said.
“Clearly Craig has great credibility in talking about tyres, given what he does for a living, and his popularity and recognition mean that his involvement will assist Tyrepower in promoting its message.
“It’s an exciting time ahead and you’ll be seeing a lot of Craig, and Tyrepower, as we ramp up this new partnership.”
For his part, Craig is delighted to extend his Tyrepower relationship nationally.
“I’ve worked with the Tyrepower crew in Queensland for more than five years now and it’s been a great relationship, so being able to get involved nationally is a fantastic opportunity,” Craig Lowndes said.
“Tyrepower’s stores are all operator-owned, so there’s a real sense of involvement and personalised service with customers, which I like, so spreading the word is no chore!”
Established in 1977, Tyrepower now has over 250 independent stores within its national network, making it Australia’s biggest independent tyre retail chain.
Enjoying preferential buying arrangements with key industry players such as Toyo, Kumho, Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly, Continental, Maxxis, Cooper, ROH Wheels, Speedy Wheels, Mullins Wheels, and Century Batteries, Tyrepower is the primary Australian distribution channel for many of the world’s leading brands.
A key focus of all Tyrepower staff and stores is to provide knowledgeable and friendly service, giving customers what they need to make an informed decision.
